
Midland - Bruce Stanton, Member of Parliament for Simcoe North, congratulates the Wye Marsh on the unveiling of their two Wind Turbines. In particular, he wants to express his gratitude to Ron Neville, the Project Coordinator, for his efforts in making this happen.
The official Wind Turbine Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was held Friday, May 25th at 11:00 am. The Ministry of Energy’s Community Conservation Initiatives was recognized for their $40,000 contribution and Midland PUC for their contribution of $25,000 during the ceremony. Scott Warnock, Mayor of Tay Township, was also thanked for labour and equipment support throughout the project.
In attendance were local dignitaries including MPP for Simcoe North, Garfield Dunlop, MP for Simcoe North, Bruce Stanton, Phil Marley, President & CEO of Midland Power Utility Corporation, and Laurie Schutt, Executive Director at Wye Marsh.
Jeff Robinson of Canadian Wildlife Services (CWS), a division of Environment Canada, was also on hand. CWS owns the National Wildlife Area (NWA) which is operated by the Wye Marsh under a lease agreement since 1985.
